Body Image

I realized today that I have a very poor body image. Yes I knew this but I didnt know to what extent.

This is what I know... I have lost almost 50lbs. I have gone from a tight size 16 to an 8/10. My clothes are way baggy. In pictures I can tell the difference 100%... but....

Naked I am so disgusted. I think my body looks exactly the same. I have the same rolls on my stomach. My thighs jiggle and are huge. I have back rolls. When does all of that get better???

  1. I don't have an answer for you since I am still 245 lbs but when I get down more in weight and clothing size, I'll see if I have a thought on it :)

I would imagine those changes require maybe weight lifting and crunches and lunges and things like that.

Maybe one of your rewards for doing such a great job should be at least a consultation with a personal trainer?

  2. Body image isn't always just about your body. Sometimes, you have to take a step back and re-evaluate yourself. Remember that you are amazing, wonderful, an inspiration to people (or at least me) :) taking a break and just reconnecting with yourself. (I know this is coming off really corny but its just an opinion) I had/have a lower self image. However, after being able to drop some weight, I started to lift my head a little higher, and have a little more confidence. I still need to do A LOT of work to get my body where I want it. But I have my head on straight! :)

  3. Thanks for the post -
Jayne I do full body weight training 3x a week. And have had a trainer on and off. Not recently though. Maybe I should. The issue is rolls of fat over the muscles - so mainly aerobic exercise and diet... I just thought the rolls should start looking smaller. I look so much better now with clothes on but with clothes off...yuck!
